I don’t know if Rick Santorum is a racist. I know he says many stupid things, so he might be an idiot, or maybe a racist idiot. It is hard to tell when a person has a brain the size of an empty, withered walnut.
Sectarian tensions rose yesterday as the UN International Dateline Commission convened its 2012 session. At issue was determining how to move the tiny Pacific Island nations of Samoa and Tokelau to the opposite side of the International Dateline.
There is no shortage of Americans full of crackpot ideas and imagined conspiracies. They’re usually part of an unknown cast preaching to like-minded goobs. But occasionally someone with a not-so-unknown name takes to the bloody pulpit.
The Republican presidential field has come to ruination and they’ve blamed the media at every turn. They are apparently of the opinion that journalists should only ask questions candidates want to answer. As master media manipulators that belief should be a disqualification for lack of critical thinking skills.
Anyone who denies there are big flaws in our military’s procurement practices is light on scruples and probably the CEO of, say, Boeing (among others)… or maybe both.
Anyone who believes that if America had no military the world would live in peace and harmony is suffering from dementia. Like it or not, America needs a military that can defend and support our interests. The problem is how we buy it.
